The Big Help Out
4th April 2023

Wem Town Council is keen to become involved with the Big Help Out that is planned for Monday 8th May as part of national events to mark The Coronation.

We are aware that local groups may be organising events on the day to attract volunteers and the Town Council are keen to promote any volunteering opportunities that may be organised.

Alternatively if groups are not able to organise a stand alone volunteer event on May 8th but would still like to promote their work to attract new volunteers the Town Council are planning on holding a special volunteer market in the town centre.

The market will be held between 10-12.00 and will give local groups and organisations the opportunity to have a stall to promote their work and encourage people to volunteer. The market will be located on Jubilee Square or if the weather is poor in the Town Council meeting room in Wem Library.

There will be no charge to have a stall, we just want to use this time to give groups the opportunity to tell people about what they do and how people can get involved.

As this event will be promoted nationally we are hoping that the public will be interested in coming down to see how they can give time to help the many fabulous groups in the town.

Please feel free to share with anyone who may be interested in attending.

If you would like more information or a stall please can you email info@wem.gov.uk or telephone 01939 232733 by Friday 28th April 2023
