Location
Wem is located at the heart of the North Shropshire Plain at the junction of the B5063, B5065 and B5476, approximately 2 miles west of the A49.
The A49 is an important strategic route, which runs in a north-south direction linking the Merseyside and Manchester conurbations with south Wales. This means that Wem has relatively good access to a number of other towns within a 20-mile radius as well as direct rail links to South Wales and to Crewe. Whitchurch and Wrexham are to the north with Shrewsbury and Telford to the south.
Rail
The Shrewsbury to Creweline passes through Wem and benefits from a railway station that has regular trains to Crewe and Shrewsbury. A limited number of these continue further, providing direct access to and from Manchester, or Liverpool to the north and Hereford, Cardiff and Swansea to the South.
