The High Sheriff of Shropshire's Outstanding Young Citizenship Award Ceremony 2017

The High Sheriff’s Outstanding Young Citizenship Award is now in its twelfth year and is a great way to showcase and celebrate the many endeavours carried out by young people in our communities. By participating in activities within school and the wider community, young people gain the experience to develop the skills to cope with life and the challenges which it brings.

The Outstanding Young Citizenship Awards recognise young people aged 18 years and under, who demonstrate commitment to citizenship through various activities, either as an individual or as part of a group.

Parents, guardians, teachers and youth organisations will join the nominees on this evening to collect their personalised certificates. The High Sheriff will present Special Awards to the two most outstanding young citizens - one chosen from the Shropshire Council area and one from within the Borough of Telford & Wrekin. Each will receive a Special Award Plaque for themselves and a Shield for their School to keep for one year.

The Mayor of Wem, Cllr Mrs Rosemary Dodd will be attending this event with Cllr Towers, Deputy Mayor of Wem.
