  1. To appoint a Town Mayor for the year 2017/2018

    a) To receive any disclosure of pecuniary interest - Members are reminded that they must not participate in the discussion or voting on any matter in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest and should leave the room prior to the commencement of the debate.

    b) To consider any applications for Dispensations under s33 of the Localism Act 2011.

    c) Register of interests - To note the need to ensure that new registers of interest forms are filled out and returned to the Monitoring Officer within 28 days of the election

  5. Mayor’s address

    - To receive an address from Cllr Dodd upon her retirement as Mayor.

  6. To appoint a Deputy Mayor.

  9. Training Champion –

     to appoint the Council’s training champion.

  10. Review of Council Regulations and Procedures as per Standing Orders – to review the following policies.

     

    a) Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.

    b) Complaints Procedure.

    c) Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 1998.

  11. General Power of competence

    To Resolve that the Parish Council meets the criteria to exercise the General Power of Competence.

  12. Annual Accounts 2016-17

     

    a) 2016-17 Accounts - To approve the accounts and supporting papers for the year ending 31 March 2017 .

    b) Annual Return 2016-17.

    i) To consider the Towns Council’s response to questions on part 1 of the Annual Return, the Annual Governance Statement.

    ii) To approve part 2 of the Annual Return, 2016/17 accounting statements.

The Town Council meets on the last Thursday of every month except December at 7.00 p.m at the Roden Suite, Edinburgh House, Wem.
The Town Council meeting starts with Public Question time and residents can attend and raise issues with the members.
A copy of the agenda for these meetings is displayed on the notice board outside the Town Hall, High Street and on this website.
From February 2016 copies of the Agenda and Minutes can also be viewed in the Reference Section at Wem Library.
