Governors are essential to the effective running of the school and it is a rewarding way to make a difference to the lives of our children. We are looking for people to broaden the experience and skill base of the governing body and who can bring objectivity and a fresh pair of eyes to our work.
Governors set the overall direction of the school, act as a critical friend and are responsible for the school budget. We work through meetings, Committees and visits to the school. We also receive information and advice to help us in our role and full training is provided. A full role description is available from the school.
If you are interested in becoming a Governor please submit in writing or by email an application of no more than 200 words setting out why you think you can make the difference and what skills and experience you can bring to the role.
Applications should be sent to the Chair of Governors, St Peter’s CofE School, Shrubbery Gardens, Wem, Shropshire, SY4 5BX or by email to: admin@st-peters.shropshire.sch.uk
If you would like an informal chat about the role please don’t hesitate to contact via the school either Rev Nick Heron, Chair of Governors or Ian Nurser, Executive Head.
Many thanks for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you!
Closing date for applications: Monday 8th May 2017
